RF Online

RF Online, originally named 'Rising Force', (Korean: 라이징 포스) is a 3D MMORPG developed by CCR. The first version of the game was released in South Korea and was later followed by Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese, Indonesia, Portuguese and English translations. The North American/European version of the game launched its retail phase on February 21, 2006. A mixture of science fiction and classic fantasy, RF Online is set in a distant planet in the Novus system where magic exists alongside high technology. Like most MMORPGs it follows the typical fantasy setting complete with swords and sorcery, but it also emphasizes the three-way Race vs. Race vs. Race (RvRvR) concept and modern/futuristic technology such as mecha and nuclear weapons.
The NA/EU game service was brought down as of November 9, 2008, due to licence expiration. However, the developers, CCR have started to relaunch the game hosting it themselves for NA/EU. In August 2012, RF Online was confirmed to relaunch stateside via the publisher GamesCampus. RFO is currently a free-to-play game. RF Online version 1.5 launched via the publisher GamesCampus Europe in April 2013.

Gameplay

As with many MMORPGs, the player will select one race and fight monsters to gain experience points. RFO is populated with many different monsters across many areas.
At the start of the game, a character will be led through an in-game guide of the basic commands for the game. From there, the character will be exposed to a series of quests which will familiarize him/her with their character's headquarters. As the character progresses in level, his/her quests may take them out to aggressive maps, where he/she will be exposed to the player killing Features of the game. One quest given in the Sette Desert on low levels makes players aware of constant presence and danger of enemy races.

Races

There are 3 character races which the player can choose: Bellato, Cora and Accretia. each having a unique race specialty.
Bellato are small elves which use Light Force (magic that includes healing and support buffs), physical combat, and ranged combat. Their race specialty is MAU (massive armor units). Goliath(melee class MAU) and Catapult(ranged class MAU) type, usable by Engineer character class.
Cora are elves which use Dark Force (including strong offensive debuffs and buffs), physical combat, and ranged combat.Their race specialty are Animus, summoned creatures that provides offence(Isis and Hecate animus), defence(Paimon animus) or support(Inana, healer animus) usable by Summoner character class. Later patch enables Cora engineer to summon smaller and weaker versions of these animus.
Accretia are Cyborgs which do not use Force. They are balanced between physical combat and ranged combat. With their technology level they specialize in rocket launchers(usable by all Accretian class), siege kits(Striker class are specialized in using rocket launchers and siege kits) and grenade launchers(enables use of buffs and debuffs, but Engineer class can use higher level grenade launchers).
Every race has their own special sub-classes of characters to play based on warrior, ranger, specialist and each race's special classes. It is also possible to cross-class a character within the races for a wide variety of options.

Economy

The game's economy can be divided into two parts - production and consumption. The mine is a new field where resources are produced as a part of and in support of economic activity. Mining for minerals and processing the products of these produce many kinds of items. These form the basis for conflict within the mines.

Chip War

The battle for resources is actualized in an all-out war among the three races termed as Chip War. Chip War happens three times in a day, where the winning race obtains the right to control the guardian of the mines - the dreaded Holystone Keeper.
The war is led by the respective racial leaders, whose goal is to break at least one control chip owned by the opposing race. Once broken, the player who has dealt the last blow on the chip must touch base at the center of the mine caverns, to earn his race an extra 60 minutes of mining time guarded by the Holystone Keeper.
As of Episode 2, Giga 1 (Crimson Dawn), the Holystone Keeper will be vulnerable for 30 minutes after a control chip has been broken. The winning race must defend the guardian, or risk losing his guardianship over players who will opt to mine for resources until the next chip war. In addition, only characters who have been able to obtain a HolyMental Scanner during the battle will be recognized by the guardian as a valid member of the controlling race. Connectivity issues, however, have been seen to cause problems with this new feature.

PVP

Unlike most MMORPGs, RF Online revolves around PvP (Player vs Player). Only the racial headquarters, the settlement towns and select portal locations, are considered as safe areas from enemy races. Player killing comes into play because of the battle for resources between the three races. By default, opposing races members may engage in combat at any point in time on aggressive maps. Same race players may not engage in combat, unless by virtue of an item called the Chaos Potion, or during a special in-race competition called the Guild Circle Zone Scramble, also known as Guild Wars.

In July 2013 Jasmine Thompson released a cover of Naughty Boy's single La la La. In August she released a cover of Taylor Swift's single Everything Has Changed as a duet with Gerald Ko, a cover of Passenger's single Let Her Go and a cover of David Guetta's single Titanium. In September 2013 she released her debut album Bundle of Tantrums which included the singles La la La, Let Her Go"and Titanium.

In September 2013 released a cover of Chaka Khan's Ain't Nobody  the song featured in an advert for supermarket chain Sainsbury's for their by Sainsbury's range. The song has peaked to number 32 on the UK Singles Chart and Scottish Singles Chart In. October 2013 she released her first extended play Under the Willow Tree. In early July, Thompson supported Aussie pop phenomenon Cody Simpson on his Acoustic Tour. She finished the Tour. in Birmingham, posting a photo of the fans on Twitter and thanking them for their support. In September 2014 Thompson's cover of Everybody Hurts was used in the BBC autumn trailer for EastEnders.The trailer showed characters Kat Moon, Sharon Watts and Linda Carter repeating Thompson's lyrics.

Permainan ini berpusat pada konflik 3 bangsa untuk memperebutkan ''resource'' yang berharga yaitu tambang agar untuk memakmurkan bangsa tersebut dan bertempur untuk menaklukan seluruh jagad. Ada 3 ras yang ada pada permainan ini:
* Acretia Empire: Accretia adalah ras cyborg. Sekarang mereka mempunyai tujuan untuk menguasai dunia. Tubuh metal mereka adalah yang paling kuat di dalam permainan dan mempunyai teknologi canggih, tetapi mereka tidak bisa memakai [[sihir]]. Ras ini mendirikan kekaisaran, yaitu ''Acretia Empire''.

Accretia adalah otak organik yang memiliki tubuh mekanik. Bukan merupakan Robot yang bergerak dengan program, namun mereka patuh pada aturan, aturan untuk mencapai kesempurnaan. Walaupun Sikap individualis tidak diperbolehkan, kesadaran diri tetap ada; Perkumpulan Accretia tidak terlihat seperti pikiran yang menyatu. Mereka diciptakan dan di didik untuk evolusi dalam satu kesatuan. Namun, kesempurnaan dalam level yang lebih tinggi hanya dapat dicapai melalui kesempurnaan individu.Accretia merupakan keturunan langsung dari Peneliti EMC, manusia yang melahirkan Bellato dan Cora melalui percobaan mereka. Dengan pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan dedikasi dari para pendahulu mereka, mereka berhasil mengembangkan ilmu pengetahuan pada level yang lebih tinggi.

Kebudayaan Accretia adalah pengetahuan dan pemikiran rasional. Hal ini membuat mereka terus mencari pengetahuan dan penjelasan rasional dan solusi untuk permasalahan, pada setiap level. Menjadi prajurit adalah belajar taktik dari pertempuran sebelumnya atau memimpin peneliti mencari metode kloning baru dengan mempelajari anatomi bangsa lain. Pasukan Accretia, memiliki tubuh mekanik sepenuhnya dan hanya memerlukan sedikit kebutuhan.

* Bellato Union: Bellato Union merupakan bangsa petualang yang memiliki ilmu pengetahuan yang tinggi. Dalam menjalani petualangannya, bangsa Bellato banyak didukung dengan berbagai macam teknologi. Bellato mampu membuat Massive Armor Unit (MAU) dan senjata untuk dipergunakan dalam peperangan. Tingkat gravitasi yang tinggi di planet asal Bellato membuat tubuh mereka pendek, tetapi fisik mereka cukup kuat dan pandai. Bellato juga merupakan ahli ekonomi dan berdagang. Keserakahan telah mendorong mereka untuk pergi ke planet lainnya, untuk menjajah dan mendapatkan resources lebih. Untuk memperluas sampai akhir alam semesta, Bellato ingin memastikan bahwa Sektor Novus tidak jatuh dalam kekuasaan Accretia atau Cora. Keinginan untuk tumbuh dan berkembang pasti akan membuat alam semesta diliputi kekacauan.

Peralatan mekanik Bellato semula diproduksi untuk kemajuan penelitian, dan pembangunan bukan untuk keperluan pertempuran. Dalam kemajuan teknologi, berbagai macam Armor Unit diproduksi dalam jumlah besar dan dikembangkan untuk dapat bertahan dalam pertempuran.

Pada pertempuran awal menunjukkan bahwa Armor Unit membawa kemenangan besar untuk Federation. Hal ini membuat pengeluaran biaya pertahanan nasional membengkak, karena banyaknya Armor Unit yang diproduksi untuk pasukan pertahanan. Dalam catatan pertempuran Novus Armor Unit Sebelumnya juga menunjukkan beberapa kali kekalahan dengan Launcher Accretia, dan hal ini melemahkan kekuatan pasukan. Kekalahan ini disebabkan oleh Armor Unit tidak di design untuk kondisi geografis planet Novus, setelah itu hak untuk memproduksi diberikan kepada penduduk Novus, kemudian Armor Unit di desain ulang supaya cocok di planet Novus.

* Holy Alliance Cora: Holy Alliance Cora adalah suatu bangsa dengan peradaban spiritual yang amat kuat budayanya di bidang agama dan seni sihir. Berdasarkan sejarah, bangsa Cora sendiri merupakan bangsa yang terbentuk dari campuran beberapa negara dan bangsa yang memiliki kepercayaan sama. Penampilan mereka juga amat menarik, laki-lakinya tinggi tegap, dan perempuannya elok dan cantik.

Bangsa Cora, bertempur untuk keselamatan mereka dari gangguan bangsa lain. Ahli dalam pertempuran baik secara fisik maupun sihir, ilmu dan senjata mereka pada umumnya adalah barang yang diberkati oleh dewa mereka, DECEM. Holy Alliance Cora merupakan bangsa dengan kemampuan sihir terkuat, sehingga Cora adalah satu-satunya bangsa yang mampu memanggil Animus untuk membantu mereka dalam pertempuran.

DECEM membuat dunia yang dilupakan menjadi keindahan, dan Cora diciptakan untuk menjalankan keinginan DECEM. Mengetahui bahwa mereka bangsa yang terpilih, Cora berkumpul berdasarkan kepercayaan kepada Dewa mereka. Tujuan "Hidup" mereka adalah mendekatkan diri dengan Dewa mereka. Bagi Cora, yang menjalankan keinginan Decem akan memperoleh kekuatan, kemampuan, dan lebih kuat dalam Dark Force. Dark Force adalah hadiah yang paling berharga diberikan Decem untuk anak-anaknya.

Keinginan Decem adalah Cora tidak boleh merusak planet atau makhluk hidup yang ada, mereka harus menjaga dan memeliharanya, karena melukai planet adalah melukai Decem sendiri. Baju dan armor Cora dibuat dari bahan natural, pakaian yang mereka gunakan sangat lembut dan fleksibel. Cora percaya bahwa tubuh mereka adalah tempat suci untuk Decem. Cora menjaga kecantikan, dan menjaga kebersihan tubuh mereka dengan baik. Cora mencintai dan menghargai tubuh demi penyesuaian diri dengan DECEM.

The Holy Alliance Cora is a spiritual civilisation with a firm belief in religion and the magical arts. Though the history of the Cora has been built on religious wars, which has created multiple states and nations, the country is strongly unified through its core religious beliefs. The Cora people, united as the Holy Alliance, now battle for their survival using the magical powers drawn from their spiritual beliefs, and traditional weapons blessed by their god, Disem

» Background Story

Decem has created the world to turn oblivion into beauty, and the Corites to enforce his will. Knowing they are the chosen race, Corites have organized their society accordingly to their faith in their god. Everything they do in “This Life” is to ascend to a high station or being, gaining them a closer relationship with their god. It is evident that those who do enforce His will are granted more powers, abilities and become stronger in the use of the Darkling Force, the most precious gift Decem has made to His children.

Decem states that Corites must not harm the planet or any planets they inhabit, that they must insure its well being and take care of it, for harming the planet would be harming Decem himself. Corites are permitted only to use the resources they need to expand and move on to help fulfil the will of Decem. They do all things within nature, heightening it in its vast beauty. The Corites refine metals with the Darkling Force, combining alloys without causing pollution to create their items and weapons. All of their items are technologies empowered by the Darkling force.

Corite clothing and armours are made from nothing but natural materials, the clothing they wear is loose and allows for a lot of flexibility. It is the Corites’ belief that their bodies are a shrine to Decem, for he created them. Corites hold beauty with a lot of value, and take care of their bodies and hygene extremely well. They love and respect their bodies as to act in perfect unison within Decem.

All foods and consumables eaten by the Corites must be blessed by Decem before they eat them. In accordance with their beliefs, all the food they ingest is to be completely natural wholesome foods grown specifically by the Corites for the purpose of eating, using only natural means to create the sustenance which they require to survive.
